Aston Villa Women were beaten 1-0 by Chelsea at the Banks’s Stadium on Saturday.

Chelsea’s Jessie Fleming scored the winner for the champions, against a very spirited Aston Villa side.

Let’s see how Adam Reapa who was in the stands once again rated the performance of our women in Claret and Blue.

LINE UP

Hannah Hampton – 7

Kept Chelsea down to one goal with a few saves, including tipping one onto the bar.

Sarah Mayling – 6.5

Sarah tried to drive Villa forward via the wings and get the ball in the box. Had an effort that was misplaced in a game of few chances.

Meaghan Sargeant – 7.5

Megahan is always so dependable at the back and helped keep the Chelsea attackers at bay with their wealth of talent.

Elisha N’Dow – 7

Elisha is always there to make sure the ball gets cleared when needed, always solid at the back.

Anita Asante – 6.5

Anita always works hard at the back and hardly misplaced a pass during the game, always confident on the ball.

Maz Pacheco – 7

Maz will always shine in a game as she works hard on and off the ball, always trying to drive Villa forward.

In association with #HerGameToo

Ramona Petzelberger – 7

Ramona always works and never stops trying to win the ball back for Villa, she showed some silky skills while pushing Villa forward.

Chloe Arthur – 7

For me, Chloe is always a hard worker that gives 100% on and off the ball, no different in this game; she battled strongly against Chelsea’s superstar line-up!

Marisa Ewers – 6.5

Great to see Marisa back on the pitch, getting some minutes under her belt once again.

Remi Allen – 6.5

Allen picked up a booking, unsurprising given how much she battled trying to unsettle the Chelsea players and get Villa on the ball.

Alisha Lehmann – 6.5

Alisha switched to centre-forward without a whole lot of supply, tried to hold the ball up and won a few fouls trying and get Villa into the Chelsea half.

Substitutions

Ruesha Littlejohn (On for Marisa Ewers 63 mins) – 7

Ruesha came on and got stuck in straight away to trying to unsettle the Chelsea players.

Shania Hayles (On for Chloe Arthur 81 minutes) – 6.5

Shania didn’t have much time to make an impact on the game in the minutes she was afforded, but you will always get 100% from her at all times!

OPPOSTION
