Aston Villa won the Second City Derby, beating Birmingham City at St Andrews; Asante rising highest to head home the winner!

Let’s see how Adam Reapa who was in the stands once again rated the performance of our women in Claret and Blue.

Hannah Hampton – 8

Hannah didn’t have much to do in the Villa goal, but she was always available for a back-pass and gave a real calmness to the backline.

She also kept us fans geared up behind the goal!

Sarah Mayling – 7.5

Mayling provided the assist for Anita Asante’s goal and was brave driving Villa forward when she had the opportunity.

Anita Asante – 8.5

Solid at the back in her primary role, always looking to make sure Birmingham didn’t approach the goal.

Grabbed the winning goal with a powerful header at the back post following a great delivery from a corner by Mayling.

Meaghan Sargeant – 8

Sometimes I feel I could copy and paste what is said about Sargeant , dependable, solid, reads game so well, and is a presence for us at set pieces in the final third.

The most consistent player in our squad for sure; always ready and willing for the team!

Maz Pacheco – 7.5

Maz always seems to be in the right place at all times, she makes it so hard for the opposition to pass her and create anything, which is a huge plus throughout any game.

As always she turns defence into attack in a flash.

Marisa Ewers – 8

Maybe I’m a bit biased, but we have the best Captain in FAWSL! Nicknamed Mercedes, she has such an engine on her; and is pure class both on and off the pitch!

You can always rely on Marisa, and her smile after the game shows how much it meant to her, she gave it everything she had!

Chloe Arthur – 7

Arthur battled away in the centre of the pitch as always, before she came off near the hour mark.

You can always guarantee on Chloe to be bang thick in the middle of the action, trying to turn defence into attack, as well as breaking up play in the midfield.

Ramona Petzelberger – 7.5

You know Ramona will be near, or on that football, someone who anticipates the action so well!

She always adds a touch of class to our midfield and looks to drive Villa forward and relieve pressure on those around her.

Remi Allen – 8

I know I can speak for the others in our group, but we love having Remi in our team, literally the biggest heart on our ultimate warrior!

The work she does sometimes won’t be shown, but battles throughout to win back, and press the ball.

Chantelle Boyle-Hlorkah – 7.5

Chantelle is another player that leaves everything on the pitch. She is always trying to drive us up the pitch and get at the opposition goal.

She deserved her round of applause when she came off the pitch, which she reciprocated to the travelling support.

Alisha Lehmann – 7

It is always hard for someone who isn’t in their best position, but Alisha draws fouls, which helps us retain possession as we try to push towards the goal of the opposition.

Can never fault Alisha’s effort for the team.

Freya Gregory (On for Chloe Arthur 57) – 7

Freya came onto the pitch and always try’s to use her pace and skill to drive Villa forward.

Added an extra element when she came onto the pitch for Birmingham to deal with.

Shania Hayles (On for Alisha Lehmann 76) – 7

Shania Hayles, gave Birmingham a lot to think about as she looked to attack on the break.

Ruesha Littlejohn (On For Marisa Ewers 76) – 7.5

Ruesha talked about going to war before the game and came on to the pitch and made sure she made a mark in the midfield, stopped Birmingham from building anything.

Elisha N’Dow (On for Chantelle Boyle-Hlorkah 87) – 7

Elisha came on to help bolster the backline, and you know you will always get 110% from Elisha in any role she asked to do for the team!
