Davis claimed this week’s Star Player after blasting home the opening goal against Aston Villa’s Second-City rivals Birmingham City – and celebrating in style!

Enjoy our comprehensive round-up of all the Aston Villa loan-stars in action over the past weekend.

*STAR PLAYER

Keinan Davis (Nottingham Forest)

Nottingham Forest 2-0 Birmingham City

Keinan Davis scored the opener after just 5′ minutes against Aston Villa’s derby rivals, Birmingham City.

The number 9 took the ball in the opposition half after being fed the pass from Brennan, he cleverly powered past the blues defender and quickly burst into the box to smash the ball past Blues goalkeeper Neil Etheridge from a tight angle.

That was Davis’ fifth goal of the season, and continued his top form for the rest of the game.

Nottingham Forest moved up to third in the Championship table as they defeated Birmingham City to record their fifth consecutive league win.

PREMIER LEAGUE

Matt Targett (Newcastle United)

Newcastle United 1-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers

Matty Targett and Newcastle were back to winning ways with this much needed home victory over Wolves.

Targett and his teammates responded to the onslaught they received on their travels to Spurs by taking all three points over the Dogheads.

Targett played for the full 90 minutes, put in a solid display and helped his side in defence by keeping an important clean sheet.

Anwar El Ghazi (Everton)

CHAMPIONSHIP

Cameron Archer (Preston)

Preston 2-1 QPR

It’s back-to-back wins for Preston and a second goal in a row for Cameron Archer.

5′ minutes into the second half, with his side leading by a goal to nil, Archer is played in by Johnson and beats his man, cuts inside, and fires it in to the roof of the net! The goal was thoroughly deserved from the youngster! Archer has now bagged seven goals since joining The Lilywhites!

Conor Hourihane (Sheffield United)

Sheffield United 0-0 Bournemouth

Conor Hourihane, hasn’t had much game time recently and was once again on the bench for Sheffield United.

However, with the scores level, Hourihane would be introduced in the 82nd minute, attempting to help his side push on for a winning goal.

Sheffield United and Bournemouth had to settle for a share of the points as a hugely competitive encounter between the Championship promotion candidates ended goalless.

LEAGUE ONE

Kaine Kesler-Hayden (MK Dons)

AFC Wimbledon 1-1 MK Dons

Kaine Kesler-Hayden had been in top, top form as of late and he put in another decent shift for an hour in this hard, fought derby match. Kesler-Hayden presence in the game would certainly not have been unnoticed; within the first 2′ minutes he lit the torch paper, engaged in a scuffle with an opponent!

On 54 minutes he was involved in an accidental head clash, meaning his afternoon would come to an end on 60 minutes after failing to recover from the clash.

MK Dons would go on to grab an equaliser against bitter rivals AFC Wimbledon, which moved them three points clear of third-placed Rotherham in the League One promotion race.

Aaron Ramsey (Cheltenham Town)

Cheltenham 1-0 Portsmouth

LEAGUE TWO

Louie Barry (Swindon Town)

Swindon Town 0-1 Newport County

Louie Barry was certainly a creative force in this encounter, fizzing ball in the box while also going close himself on a couple of occasions.

With the sides goalless, Louie Barry was replaced in the 80th minute. Swindon would concede the killer blow in stoppage time.

Tyreik Wright (Colchester United)

Colchester United 0-2 Stevenage

Tyreik Wright started for the U’s at home to Stevenage. Stevenage hadn’t won a game in the last 11 until they played Colchester on Saturday afternoon. Tyreik Wright had to battle hard in a physical contest and put in the effort to push his side to get a goal. However, it was Stevenage struck first and would even add a second before Wright was taken off early in the 2nd half.

Finn Azaz (Newport County)

Swindon Town 0-1 Newport County

Finn Azaz put in superb display away from home for Newport County. He was instrumental in getting the one and only goal as the teams were level in stoppage time against Louie Barry’s Swindon.

Into injury-time Azaz chased an over the top ball, skipped past goalkeeper Wollacott, and fired the ball across the goal for Conroy to accidentally convert it into his own net.

A big win for Newport and Finn deservedly got the pundits.

NATIONAL LEAGUE

Arjan Raikhy (Grimsby Town)

*Injured 🩹

NATIONAL LEAGUE NORTH

Seb Revan (Hereford FC)

Flyde 2-1 Hereford FC

Seb Revan was in the starting XI as he consistently gets his name on the teamsheet. Revan put in a decent effort for his side as the Bull’s would suffer the heartbreak of an injury time goal with the scores level. Seb played the full 90.

Filip Marschall (Gateshead FC)

Gateshead 4-3 Chester

Filip Marschall started between the sticks as per usual and put in an okay performance for 90′ plus minutes. In a game of back and fourth, Marschall had some saves to make but would also concede 3 goals including a late penalty. He did however, get himself an assist when he distributed a goal-kick for Gateshead 2nd goal. A competitive game, ended with Gateshead taking the three points and keeping their place on top of the league thrown.

REST OF THE WORLD

Frédéric Guilbert (Strasbourg)

Strasbourg 1-1 Lyon

Freddie Guilbert, normally a regular starter for Strasbourg was benched for this home tie against Lyon. With his side leading by a goal to nil and under the cosh, Guilbert was introduced to the game in the 74th minute. Freddie played well, unfortunately himself and his teammates were unable to withstand the pressure from the opposition and conceded the equaliser late on.

Trezeguet (Istanbul Başakşehir)

Sivasspor 0-2 Istanbul Başakşehir

Trezeguet started for Istanbul, working hard for his team and tried to add to the tally after his side took an early lead. He would be withdrawn in the 59th minute with the one goal still separating the sides.

Lovre Kalinic (HNK Hajduk Split)

HNK Hajduk Split 2-1 Šibenik

Captain Marvel Lovre Kalinic, encouraged his team to a victory in hard fought contest. The homeside dominated the majority of possession and had more shots on goal, however the away team made Lovre work and eventually, they put one past him in the 2nd half.

Wesley (SC Internacional)

Athlético Mineiro 2-0 SC Internacional

Wesley started upfront for SC Internacional on their travels to Athlético Mineiro. Wesley didn’t have the best game, his side wasn’t up for the task at hand and conceded a first half goal. Wesley was replaced at half-time and his side would concede another in the 2nd half.
