STAR MAN – MORGAN SANSON

Strasbourg defeated Montpellier two-nil at home thanks to an assist from Morgan Sanson. Sanson made an important pass that allowed teammate Habib Diallo to put Strasbourg ahead in the first minute. Sanson played 65 minutes before being replaced.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Cameron Archer started his second game in a row for Middlesbrough, after getting himself an assist and the Man Of The Match last weekend. Archer was part of another victory as his side dismantled Blackpool by three-goals-to-nil at the Riverside. Archer would lead the line for the whole game, having 2 shots that failed to hit the target. However, he had 33 touches and his passing accuracy was very good, with 89.5%

Tim Iroegbunam began the game on the bench for QPR away at Huddersfield. Iroegbunam wasn’t introduced until the 76th minute with the teams level at one-a-piece. Iroegbunam nearly grabbed the winner with the last shot of the game; A right-footed shot from outside the box went close, but missed to the top right corner. It finished, 1-1.

Keinan Davis returned from injury to start for Watford in an away defeat at Middlesbrough last weekend. Davis would lead the line again for ‘The Hornets,’ this time in a 2-2 draw against Reading. Davis would have an average performance, working hard but wasn’t able to influence the game. He was withdrawn on the 71st minute.

Marvelous Nakamba made his debut on home soil for Luton Town from the bench, on the hour mark. Luton were leading by a goal-to-nil against Stoke, when Nakamba was introduced in a bid to help his side protect their lead. Marvelous had 16 touches of the ball and won 2 aerial duels. Nakamba would contribute and his side would win by a single goal and get a deserved clean sheet.

Jaden Philogene-Bidace was the best player on the pitch for Cardiff City but it wasn’t enough as his side lost one-nil away at Hull. Philogene made one key pass, had 42 touches, a passing rating of 83.3 % and also won a penalty, when he was brought down in the box. Unfortunately, his team-mate failed to capitalize and missed.

Aaron Ramsey is currently working on his fitness, after he recovered from an serious knee injury he suffered at previous loanee club, Norwich. Ramsey will be pushing himself to feature ASAP since he recently joined, Middlesbrough for the second half of the season.

Kortney Hause has been for Watford since November with a serious knee injury. He has now been left out of Watford’s official 25-man EFL squad.

LEAGUE ONE

Finn Azaz started for Plymouth Argyle and would go on to perform for 90+’ minutes. It wasn’t Azaz best display for The Pilgrims, as his side squandered their opportunities. Azaz made two key passes, had 43 touches but never had a shot on goal. They would lose one-nil away at Sheffield Wednesday, who moved to the top of League One.

Lamare Bogarde recently joined Bristol Rovers on loan from Villa. The youngster started life at Rovers on the bench and made his debut in the 86th minute. His side were trailing one-nil to MK Dons when he was brought on. Rovers would concede another in stoppage time; Bristol Rovers 0-2 MK Dons.

LEAGUE TWO

Louie Barry made his debut for Salford City, with a start in front of the home supporters. Barry came close early on, not once but twice, nearly opening the scoring but was unlucky not to get on the scoresheet. Barry would be replaced at half-time. Salford were 2-1 victors over local rivals Rochdale at the Peninsula Stadium.

Caleb Chukwuemeka was not named in the matchday squad for Crawley Town.


NATIONAL LEAGUE PREMIER

Filip Marschall earned himself a clean sheet for Gateshead, as they beat Solihull Moors 2-0 away from home. The shotstopper helped his team win two from two and get a much needed victory as his team fight for survival in the relegation zone.


SCOTLAND

Ben Chrisene is currently back at Villa for treatment and rehab. His loan with Kilmarnock, is still on-going
