Let’s see how all our Claret and Blue loan stars performed this week.

CHAMPIONSHIP

Aaron Ramsey scored his third goal in three games on Saturday. The goal would prove to be the winner at Rotherham and would send Norwich City up to fourth in the Championship. With the sides level at one a piece, Ramsey was the quickest to react to a rebound after the Rotherham keeper had saved a shot from Ramsey’s team-mate, Sargent and give Norwich the 2-1 victory.

Jaden Philogene-Bidace would play 58′ minutes for Cardiff in an away day 1-0 win over Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Philogene would win a penalty in the 12th minute for Cardiff, only for his team-mate to miss the spot-kick. Jaden would also have a shot saved, a shot blocked and in the 58th had to be withdrawn due to a knock, which meant on Tuesday night, Philogene would not be part of the matchday squad in a 3-2 home defeat to Hull City.

Tim Iroegbunam has been playing well as part of a double pivot in front of the defence for QPR. However, his impressive performances were unable to prevent QPR suffering two back to back defeats on home soil, the past few days; Firstly, a 1-0 defeat against West Brom on Saturday, where Iroegbunam played for 84′ minutes. Then on Tuesday night, Iroegbunam would play the full 90′ in a 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield. Iroegbunam is certainly looking sharp and getting plenty of minutes in this loan spell at QPR.

Kaine Kesler-Hayden has returned from the cold and was an unused sub in a 1-0 away loss to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday. Hayden would again be on the bench on Tuesday night, this time though, he would be introduced to the game at QPR for the second half. Hayden looked lively and his energy would help his side get a much needed 2-1 victory.

Keinan Davis had the ball in the net after 21′ minutes, but the forwards effort was ruled out for a foul in the build-up, in a 1-0 home defeat to Coventry City on Saturday. Davis would start again upfront on Tuesday night and would again cause the opposition problems in a 2-0 win over Reading. Davis nearly got on the scoresheet, after a superb shot on the turn was saved.

Kortney Hause still remains sidelined so was not part of the matchday squads for Watford, on Saturday and Tuesday.

LEAGUE ONE

Louie Barry was close to getting one of many goals his team scored in a 6-0 thumping over Taunton Town on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup. Barry smashed the bar, had a few shots saved and scuffed some wide in an dominant display over non-league opposition. Barry played 59′ minutes for MK Dons before being withdrawn. Barry would be an unused sub in a 2-0 win over Morecambe in the league cup on Tuesday night.

Viljami Sinisalo got himself a clean sheet in the first round of the FA Cup for Burton Albion in a 2-0 win over Needham Market. Sinisalo didn’t have a busy Saturday as he wasn’t forced to make a save in a comfortable victory against the brave Suffolk side from the Southern League Premier Central Division, whom was in the first round of the competition for the first time in their history.

Finn Azaz remains on the injured list.

LEAGUE TWO

Tyreik Wright was unable to prevent his side, Bradford City from exiting the first round of the FA Cup on Saturday in a 1-0 home defeat to League Two strugglers, Harrogate Town. Wright nearly equalised and was withdrawn in the 69th minute. Wright put in a decent performance on Tuesday night in a 2-1 away day win over Mansfield. Unfortunately for Wright, his night was cut short and he to be taken off due to injury in the 55th minute.

Caleb Chukwuemeka would be brought on from the bench in the 78th minute with the game already over, on Saturday. Crawley Town were losing 4-1 to Accrington Stanley in the first round of the FA Cup, when Chukwuemeka was introduced to get some game time. Chukwuemeka would be in the starting XI in the EFL Cup third round defeat to Championship side, Burnley on Tuesday night. Chukwuemeka did well in the game and with the teams level at 1-1, Caleb was withdrawn on the 66th minute. The pressure would be be too much for Crawley and they would concede 2 goals, meaning they would exit the competition; Burnley 3-1 Crawley Town

Hayden Lindley was not in the matchday squad for Newport County’s 2-0 win against Colchester on Saturday in the first round of the FA Cup. However, Lindley was an unused sub in Newport County’s 3-0 away day defeat in the third round of the EFL Cup to Premier League’s Leicester City.

SCOTLAND

Brad Young’s Ayr United drew 1-1 with Greenock Morton in the Scottish Championship, with the Villa striker playing 60 minutes.
