EMILIANO MARTÍNEZ – 7

“The wait for the clean sheet goes on which will frustrate Emi”

Review by Ryan Mckeown

MATTY CASH – 8

“Started the game off very quietly and was rarely seen in the opening 20 minutes. Hus game sprung to life with a last ditch tackle to stop Willian running clear. Further reward was added just after with our second goal”.

“Unlucky not to score when he got on the end of a delightful Pau pass, but his shot was straight at Leno”.

“Forced another save from Leno early in the second half”.

Review from Gary Plaza

PAU TORRES – 7.5

“What he lacks in pace, he adds in abundance in quality. Always looks to play forward and get the team up the pitch. Amazing 60 yard through ball, which Cash got on the end of before forcing the save”.

“A couple of misplaced passes second half, and Fulham pressed with more commitment, but for a player still getting used to the PL, it’s expected”.

“It is truly one of the most important transfers made this summer”.

Review from Gary Plaza

EZRI KONSA – 8

“Yet, again, another stylish and composed performance – he’s reached, and maintained, a high-class level of performance, long may it continue”.

Review by Ryan Mckeown

LUCAS DIGNE – 7.5

Continues to provide Villa with great width; linking up well with Youri Tielemans on the left-hand side.

The return of Moreno will further add competition in this area, as well as pushing Digne to maintain the level he has reached this season; which is his best in a Villa shirt.

DOUGLAS LUIZ – 8.5

“Dominates, dictates, and smoothly controls the tempo at Villa Park.”

“Another star performance from the Brazilian, who will now deservedly link up with his national team; go well Dougie.”

Review by Ryan Mckeown

BOUBACAR KAMARA – 8

“Silky performance again from Frenchman as Villa’s well-oiled double pivot continues to dominant the Villa Park midfield”.

Review by Ryan Mckeown

*JOHN MCGINN – 10

“This is the best I’ve seen McGinn in a Villa shirt. Under Gerrard, we were unsure if he’d stay at the club. He is now the heartbeat in the squad. He is leading like a captain should; both in defence and attack”.

“Great driving run in the second half almost created the 4th Villa goal of the afternoon, but Ollie was beaten by the spin of the ball when trying to head home from close range”.

Review from Gary Plaza

YOURI TIELEMANS – 8

“Fully deserved start after recent European performances, and he paid Emery’s faith off very quickly. Brilliantly arched his run in behind before being composed enough to put a perfect cross in which Robinson turned into his own net for the opener”.

“Continued to offer support at both ends of the field and looked determined to show his worth to the team”.

Review from Gary Plaza

MOUSSA DIABY – 7

“Unlucky early on when he forced a decent save from Leno, but he’ll be disappointed that he didn’t put the chance away”.

“Great movement with little end product today and was subbed on the hour”.

Bailey, 60′Absolutely brilliant from Bailey, his break and link up with McGinn allowed the assist for Ollie to finish the game off. Looked a problem for Fulham every moment he had the ball. 8

Review from Gary Plaza

OLLIE WATKINS – 7.5

“2 goals in a week at Villa Park for Ollie Watkins; finishing off (after starting it) a gorgeous display of counter attacking football”

“Had a mare when offered the opportunity to make it a brace – but, it happens, and it’s best to get them out of the system when you’re 3-1 up.”
