LEICESTER CITY 0-2 MANCHESTER CITY
Despite a loss for the host, bottom team Leicester City provided a stern test for visitors Manchester City.
Janina Leitzig; Leicester’s goalkeeper, did well to not concede a goal in the first half after Man City’s continuous attempts to open the scoring.
Manchester City finally broke the Leicester City’s resistance when Bunny Shaw 61′ headed the ball over Leitzig’s head for her 10th league goal of the season.
Chloe Kelly 74′ (her first goal of the season) delivering sensational solo strike, confirming Man City’s three points.
Leicester City remain twelfth with three points, whilst Manchester City slide up to third with twenty-six points in the Women’s Super League.
TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR 2-3 CHELSEA
Tottenham welcomed Chelsea in a spectacular London Derby.
Jess Carter claims the first goal for Chelsea within eight minutes of kick off at the Breyer Group Stadium, but former Chelsea forward Beth England 18′ levelled after good work from Drew Spence.
Lauren James (27), who took possession of the ball midway inside the Spurs half, powered forward before finding the bottom corner scoring Chelsea’s second goal of the game.
Norwegian Guro Reiten added a crucial third goal after 64 minutes, racing away from the Spurs defence from the halfway to calmly slot home. Nikola Karczewska’s 88th-minute strike gave the Champions a nervy finish to the game, but Emma Hayes team held on maximum points.
Chelsea keep their prime spot at the top of the table with thirty-one points.Β Tottenham sit ninth with nine points in the WSL table.Β
