AWAY DAYS | CRYSTAL PALACE

Author

It’s game week three, and Aston Villa will travel south to Selhurst Park hoping to repeat last season’s successful visit; Matt Targett and John McGinn scored in a 1-2 Villa victory.

For those marking the trip to Selhurst Park check out our helpful guide on what to expect – other than the three points of course!

Thank you to @TheSelhurstTalk & @beds_villafan for their contributions in putting this guide together.

ADVICE FOR TRAVELLING FANS @TheSelhurstTalk

What to expect?

The best atmosphere in the league; Jokes, aside a great atmosphere, a close view of the pitch.

Advice for travelling fans?

Best to travel from London Bridge down to Norwood Junction, and walk from there.

Away fans’ pubs?

Away pub, the Prince George

VILLA FANS PRESPECTIVE – @beds_villafan

Travel 4/5

South London is not as easy to get around as it is north of the river, but luckily for me, the nearest rail station is on the same line as Luton where I live currently. This would normally be and advantage but it’s an away day so I still detoured to the pubs.

Atmosphere – 5/5

Let’s be honest – Palace fans are unreal.

Food and Drink | N/A

Couldn’t get served because the concourse is far too small and was completely rammed. It was very difficult to move around in there. A grand total of TWO female cubicles btw.

Away End Experience | 1/5

Last time I went, it was the infamous incident with Kevin Friend. People I know of were subjected to some very provocative and heavy-handed policing and it was very tense and toxic for all the wrong reasons. Ugly scenes – never want to see that happen again.

Special thanks to @ellisburnett.
