Zrinjski Mostar, Legia Warszawa, and AZ Alkmaar all returned to their respective domestic leagues following game-week one of the UEFA Conference League Group E fixtures.

Lets find out how all the teams performed…

Aston Villa’s 0-1 win against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Sunday has repaired – well, patched – the disappointment of Thursday’s defeat to Legia Warszawa. We’ll have to wait until the reserve fixture to make amends.

So how did Legia Warszawa domestically follow up on their dream UECL start? They faced Górnik at Stadion Wojska Polskiego in Warszawie; Tomáš Pekhart scored the game’s first goal after only eight minutes, but Sebastian Musiolik immediately equalised for the visitors on 12 minutes.

With the game heading for a draw, Igor Strzalek (pictured above) won it for the hosts in dramatic style; sealing the win in the 92nd minute. Ernest Muçi finished with his team’s highest SofaScore rating of 7.8.

Legia, unbeaten this season, stay in 2nd place in the league, two points behind leaders Śląsk Wrocław with two games in hand.

Zrinjski Mostar – Villa’s next opposition – also backed-up their sensational winning comback against AZ Alkmaar (4-3) with domestic success defeating FK Željezničar 2-1.

It was a comeback special again; you cannot write this team off. 0-1 down at halftime, Zrinjski Mostar fought back through Slobodan Jakovljević (on 77′), then Petar Mišić scoring the winner on 90+1′ to claim the three points.

The win moves Zrinjski Mostar up to 7th in the league.

AZ Alkmaar maintained their 100% winning start to the domestic season – PEC Zwolle their fifth victim!

Mayckel Lahdo, Myron Van Brederode, and Vangelis Pavlidi scored the goals for the visitors at the Mac3Park Stadion. PSV still top the Eredivisie on goal difference from second-placed AZ Alkmaar.
