Aston Villa secured a fourth consecutive win on the bounce as goals from Bertrand Traoré and Ollie Watkins eased Aston Villa past Nottingham Forest at Villa Park.

Let’s hear the fans’ post-match thoughts about the players’ individual performances.

EMILIANO MARTINEZ – 8

Another clean sheet for our number one! Forest didn’t trouble with too many shots on target but Martinez was very good at reading danger, sweeping out when needed, and did a good job of dealing with the many corners that came his way”.

– Hannah Gowen

ASHLEY YOUNG – 7

A third start in a week for the experienced Ashley Young and once again he barely put a foot wrong. Sets the standards with his leadership and game management whilst his positioning was once again superb. Leaves it all out on the pitch and will be enjoying a well deserved ice bath tonight”.

– Joey Millington

TYRONE MINGS – 8

“Another top class centre back performance from Mings who cleared up everything in his path. Clearly instructed to try and progress the ball forward, particularly in the first half, he also did well at pushing his team forwarded to break through the stubborn man-marking visitors”.

– Hannah Gowen

EZRI KONSA – 8

Solid performance against a depleted forest attack. No flash points where our defence were really called upon. Probably the easiest clean sheet of the season so far

Gary Plaza

ÁLEX MORENO – 8.5

An outstanding January singing. Moreno was up and down all afternoon and could easily have had an assist when his cut-back was fired wide by Buendía. Picked up a silly booking but this won’t tarnish another eye-catching performance from the relentless full back”.

– Joey Millington

DOUGLAS LUIZ – 7.5

The biggest compliment that can be paid to Luiz, and his midfield colleague John McGinn, is that French star Kamara has barely been missed. The Brazilian was the most composed player on the pitch as he kept Villa ticking along towards another three points”.

Dendoncker 75′Steady Cameo. 6.

– Joey Millington

JACOB RAMSAY – 7.5

Similar to Buendia no much to shout about. Very good as a team without any individual stand out performances. Did well with the assist for Ollie’s goal”.

A quiet couple of games for Ramsey, hopefully a big performance coming against Newcastle next Saturday”.

– Gary Plaza

JOHN MCGINN – 7.5

A slightly quieter game for McGinn as he sat in the deeper role for much of it. However, he did his typical McGinn business in the middle of the park, throwing his body into it and working a few great passes through, particularly the one through to Traoré. Managed to get further up the field with the introduction of Dendonker and finished the game well”.

– Hannah Gowen

EMILIANO BUENDIA – 7

Nothing to shout about fron Emi today, just a proper team performance. Tried to make things happen but its very difficult against a team playing a back 10. Unlucky not to score late on when he shot wide”.

Dendonker – No issues. Helped see the game 6.5.

– Gary Plaxa

LEON BAILEY – 5

“Only managed 25 minutes before pulling his hamstring in what looked like his best movement in weeks to beat his man and play a ball in to Watkins. Not much else of note and he’ll now be on the sidelines for a period!!

Traoré 28′: He’s done it again! Super sub Traoré got the second half off to a great start with his second goal in a week. Did other typically Bertie things throughout the game with moments of greatness and then sloppiness, but all in all we love the bloke at the minute and very glad to see him in front of a full stadium of claret and blue! 7.5

– Hannah Gowen

OLLIE WATKINS – 8

The forward has himself said he’s not running into the channels as much, nor is he involved in build-up play as much under Unai Emery. Watkins is, however, a real goal threat and a handful for defenders, as his movement and finishing are just impeccable at the moment. The touch to round his man, before lifting the ball over Navas late on was a moment of genius and highlights the elite level Watkins is operating at as he racked up his 11th Premier League goal of this season”.

– Joey Millington
